In the third picture above I have practiced the hatching, crosshatching, stippling, and invented method in a sphere. The green sphere is a sample of shading with colored pencils.
SketchesIn these sketches I have tested out some shading on the fence and trees. I also tested out different textures for the trees and grass in the second picture. In ProgressThis in progress picture is pretty good. I need to add more values and shadows in the background of my piece. Final PieceI Create Original Art
I used my own unique ideas in this piece by taking a picture of the fence in my own backyard, opposed to just googling a picture of a fence. I really like the perspective part of this piece; how it looks like the fence is really long and goes off into the distance. I think what really makes my piece stand out are the values. The different shades and shadows really makes the piece come alive. I Developed My Art Making Skills While working on this piece I learned many different techniques. I learned how to create shadows by adding pressure to my pencil, I learned how to draw different textures such as tree bark and wood for the fence. I also learned how kneaded erasers can be used to lighten certain areas. I Can Communicate Through My Work This artwork is intended to show how one point perspective is used in our every day lives or even in places around us; like the fence in my backyard. An issue that I ran into while making this piece was creating the grass patches. I had a hard time creating the right texture and trying to make it look natural. This artwork shows what I like by displaying my interest/ beauty in nature. I took this picture on a beautiful summer day showing that summer is my favorite season. |
