I made this scraffito tray by forming a flat layer of soft clay on top of a tray, painting the tray with black under glaze, and carving in a design with my pencil.
I find that the most successful part of this tray was the top coat of clear glaze. It came out so evenly. But if I could change something about this piece it would be the design.
This project taught me that under glazes need a lot of coats to prevent it from coming out streaky looking.
