From this project, I have learned that clay absorbs acrylic paint very quickly. I learned that when painting the sky on my artwork. This piece is successful in showing a whale's tail coming out of the water. By making this project relief, it makes my artwork look more 3-D. If I were to do this project again I would have cut the sides of the clay more evenly. I also put my art work in the library on display.
StyrogamiWhile working on this project I learned that Styrofoam is a very delicate medium to work with. I had to be very careful. I also learned that 5000 glue wears down the material in Styrofoam. When I created this sculpture, I was going for a jack O' lantern look. I believe that my piece was very successful in achieving this look. If I were to do this project again I would consider changing the type of glue I used. Cardboard MiniWhile working on this project I learned that there are many different layers of cardboard (I thought there were only 2). I also learned some different techniques to help me get to different layers. This piece was successful in the fact that there are different layers in the petals. Next time I would draw the petals more proportioned. Clay Tile MiniWhile working on this project I learned that in order to get a piece of clay to stick with another piece you have to score and slip. This piece is successful because it actually looks like part of a leaf. I loved the way it turned out. If I had to do this again I would not change a thing.
